​​While the answer is simple, it may be confusing at first.  I've taught this puzzle with Mark and Nani to many students at the Magic Castle, and key is to fold your arms, "Like you are angry" with one hand going under the other arm's elbow before picking up the Hank.  In other words, tie your arms in a knot first.
